This page is used to track new features and updates that are added to the Nebula system.
December 2023
- Limited Savings Plan Support – Effective November 2023 usage, Savings Plan reporting is supported for single Provisioning Entity (Group I&T) who does not use the Nebula Organization structure, therefore bypassing the issues described in Limitations in Nebula-Supported Azure Subscriptions. Given the limited support, there is little impact but all users will see some new columns that appear in the following reports:
September 2023
- Updated Exchange Rate for AUD currency – Microsoft has updated the exchange rate used for AUD usage effective September usage. See NTT Transactional Model JPY and AUD Exchange Rates.
July 2023
- Updated Calculations for JPY SCE Discounting – Microsoft has changed the methodology for manual discounting of the JPY SCE. The system has been updated to use the new methodology for usage from June 2023 forward. To support this, a new expectedManualDiscount calculation field has been added to the Monthly Costs Report described in Azure Monthly Costs Report.
May 2023
- Updated NTT Transactional Model for JPY and AUD currencies – System price calculations have been updated to reflect the changes to the NTT Transactional Model described in NTT Transactional Model JPY and AUD Exchange Rates.
- Removed Ability to Provision Secure Connect Tenants – The Secure Connect service has gone End-of-Sale and so we have removed the ability to provision new Secure Connect tenants. For details on the policies, see How do I View and Add a Secure Connect Tenant to an Organization?

- Ability to Identify Current AAD controlling a Subscription – You can now identify the Id of the Azure Active Directory that currently controls a Nebula-provisioned subscription.

- Azure System Adjustments Usage Details Report – The Azure System Adjustments Detailed report provides the details of Azure usage used to make any SYSTEM adjustments to a previous month’s usage.

- Analysis – This update provides a new functionality that offers graphical, interactive Analysis reports based on a Power BI view of the same Nebula usage data provided in the Reports functions. For details. see:

- Cloud Solution Provider Reporting – If your Provisioning Entity also has a Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) contract with Microsoft, this update allows Nebula to be configured to pull data from the Partner Portal API and provide reporting against it. The initial report provides a breakdown of each CSP invoice by customer and product:

- Secure Connect Detailed Report – This update provides a new report that identifies the daily usage details of a Secure Connect Tenant in order to reconcile the usage reported on the Secure Connect Monthly Costs Report.

- Azure PAYG Price List Report – This update adds a new report that shows what was used to calculate the charges for a given month

- Support Information – This update adds the ability for a Provisioning Entity to manage support information (phone, text, email, hyperlinks) that will be displayed within Cloud Core Services to all of their Organizations using Cloud Core Services
- TPID Subscription Report – This update adds a new report which shows Microsoft TPID information.
- Microsoft TPID – This update adds the ability to add a Microsoft Trusted Partner ID to an Organization when it is being created or edited.

- Azure Subscription Tracking – This update adds the ability to view the status of Azure Subscription Tracking for an Organization in the Nebula UI
- Services Uptake Report – This update adds a new report which shows all Nebula Organizations provisioned with Cloud Core Services as of the day of the report, along with a cross-section of statistics relating to which services have been provisioned as of that day.
- Search for a Secure Connect Tenant – This update adds the ability for users with the Organization role to search for a Secure Connect Tenant across all Provisioning Entities they have access to.
September 2021
- Improved Handling of Cloud Core Services Provisioning Problems – This update adds improved handling of problems with enabling/provisioning Cloud Core Services. Users will now see improved messaging which may help them see why the operation failed.
- Download Certain Reports for all Authorized Provisioning Entities – This update adds the ability to easily download the contents of certain reports for all Provisioning Entities a User has access to.
August 2021
- Download Table as CSV – This update adds the ability to download the contents of certain tables (Users, Organizations, Etc…) within the UI as a CSV file.
- Reset Local User Password – This update adds the ability for Local Users to reset their password

- Add Secure Connect Tenant – This update adds the ability for users with the Organizations role to add and view a Secure Connect Tenant in the Nebula UI.
June 2021
- Transfer Subscription Owner – This update adds the ability to transfer the ownership of an Azure Subscription within Nebula.
- Provision Dev/Test Subscription – This update adds the ability to provision a Dev/Test Subscription. Note that Dev/Test Subscriptions have their own unique requirements that must be met.
- Ring-Fenced Enabled Organizations – This update adds visibility of Ring-Fenced Enabled check-boxes in both the Add Organization and Edit Organization dialogs.
- De-Provision an Unused Subscription – This update adds the ability to de-provision an unused Subscription that has not been transferred to the Target Azure AD.
- Quote Comparison Tool – This update adds the ability for certain users to access and use a Quote Comparison tool. This tool allows a user to utilize Azure’s Pricing Estimator and generate a price quote comparison

- Role Based Access Control (RBAC) Updates – This change includes updates to User roles, consolidating permissions and roles to allow more granular access control.
- Search for Organization by Subscription ID – This feature adds the ability to search for an Organization using a Subscription ID.
- Okta SSO Support – This update includes support for Okta SSO login
- Subscription Summary Report – This update adds a new report which provides users with a ‘per subscription’ summary showing all the usage for a particular calendar month for that subscription.
- Note: This report is not guaranteed to match the Summary Usage report by PE when adding up all the Subscriptions – due to rounding.
- Subscription History – This update adds the ability to view the history of a subset of Subscription functions.
April 2021
- Left-Hand Navigation menu – This feature adds three new buttons to the left-hand navigation menu, which are visible and usable from any screen within the Nebula UI. The new buttons are: API Documentation, Nebula Documentation, and Nebula Feedback
- Move a Subscription to a Different Organization – This feature adds the ability to move a Nebula Subscription to a different Organization. It also transfers the entire month’s usage and billing to the target Organization.
- Move an Organization to a Different Provisioning Entity – This feature adds the ability to move an Organization (and its usage/charges) to a different Provisioning Entity while maintaining the same ID’s and Subscriptions
- Identify Active Organizations (Organizations with Subscriptions) – This feature allows you to easily identify which Organizations have at least one subscription provisioned
- Search for an Organization Across Multiple Provisioning Entities – This feature allows a user who has access to 2 or more Provisioning Entities to search for an Organization by Name or Organization ID
March 2021
- Subscription Metadata – This feature adds the ability for users to add metadata to Subscriptions in the form of a Description, and Tags (Key/Value pairs)
- Organization Summary Report – The current Monthly Costs report provides a relatively large report with “retail” data for each Organization at the meterId level. The Organization Summary report provides a less granular view that is summarized to the total “retail” cost and “wholesale” (25% PAYG discount) costs all combined on a single row for each Organization.

- Changes for Cost Management Validation – An Organization’s Cost Management flag cannot be set to true if there is a Non-Discounted SCE for the Currency/Ring-Fenced combination associated with the Organization
- Reader Role Functionality – Support added for read-only roles for all levels of user: Read-only users cannot Update, Create, or Delete resources

- New Search feature for Detailed Usage Report – Allows you to search by Organization Name or Organization ID when generating a Detailed Usage Report
- SCE Summary Report – This report is for internal Cloud Infrastructure Division use only
- NTTS Security Configuration – This function allows you to configure Organizations to use the Security Services Threat Detection feature

- Detailed Usage Report – The Detailed Usage report identifies the specific quantity and usage for each Azure Meter contributed by each Azure asset on a daily basis, including the effective price of that usage under the “Pay-As-You-Go” offer
